Welcome to the 23rd International Conference on Few-Body Problems in Physics (FB23) in Beijing, China, on September 22-27, 2024. Here is some information for participants.
GENERAL INFORMATION
(1) Venue for the conference and registration
The venue for the conference is at the 5th floor of the Wanda Realm Beijing. You may register at the 1st floor of the Wanda Realm Beijing in the afternoon on Sep 22nd or morning on Sep 23rd. People who register after Sep 23rd morning need to go to the Secretariat located at Tang Hall at the 5th floor. On-site payment with credit card, WeChat, Alipay are all acceptable excepting cash in CNY. Registration fee includes daily lunch, welcome reception, and conference banquet.
(2) Social events
The welcome reception (ticket required) of the conference will be held at the Lobby Lounge at the 1st floor from 18:00 to 21:00 on Sep 23rd. The conference banquet (ticket required) will be held at the China Hall 2 & 3 at the 5th floor from 18:30 to 21:00 on Sep 26th.
(3) The Wanda Realm Beijing
The Wanda Realm Beijing is at No. 18A Shijingshan Road, Shijingshan District, Beijing, P. R. China, Tel:+86(010)88681188. It is 2.6km west to the institute of high energy physics (roughly 50km away from the Beijing Capital Airport (PEK), 60km away from the Beijing Daxing International Airport (PKX), 20km away from the Beijing South Railway Station, 12km away from the Beijing West Railway Station, 18km away from Beijing Railway Station, 30-40km away from Beijing Chaoyang Railway Station).
(4) Tips for foreign participants
After arriving in China, you can find many places to exchange Chinese currency, such as the exchange vendors in the major international airports, hotels, offices of local banks, and ATMs across the region. The exchange rates are regulated; however, the commission fees are varied from different banks, hotels, and airports. Credit and debit cards may not cover all your expenses in China. With the widespread popularity of digital payments, many businesses no longer offer point-of-sale (POS) systems for credit and debit card users. However, you can still use your bank cards via POS systems at selected hotels, shopping malls, and larger restaurants. Cash is still widely accepted. It is also very reliable. You’d better always bring some cash with you including some small changes. Digital payment is the norm in China, with Alipay and WeChat Pay leading the way. Since July 2023, they've started accepting international cards through their apps, though success may vary depending on the user's country and bank. It is quite convenient in China, during your registration, you may need someone from China to help scan the code to finish the registration, please feel free to contact the LOC.
For a taxi driver who does not understand English, you could show
请带我去北京万达嘉华酒店（北京市石景山区石景山路甲18号院1号楼）
to the driver if you want to go to the Wanda Realm Beijing, and show
请带我去北京万商花园美居酒店（北京石景山区银河大街1号）
to the driver if you want to go to the Mercure Beijing Wanshang.
